Historic “A Box” Office additions and fitout, Auckland
Interior Design
Previously a home to fleas, taggers and stray cats, this historic railway signal building has been returned to its former glory. The clients wanted to relocate their existing successful business to a bigger premises, and they could see the potential and recognised the underlying character of the existing building. The two separate buildings were connected with a new link way addition, housing a meeting room and staff cafe. A mezzanine floor was added to the main building to maximise office space. Overall the intention was to maintain the industrial design aesthetic and to be sympathetic to the original building. A vibrant funky office now occupies the space and helps to preserve the future of this unique listed building.
